Books recommendations, with a little help from my friends..

I’m always on the lookout for book recommendations, so I canvassed some of my friends, favourite bloggers and my husband for their book choices! My esteemed panel didn’t steer me wrong and now I’ve added to my already overwhelming book backlog and I hope you will too.

Without further ado…

She Shook Me – €1.00 EP

Hello!

To celebrate a great year (which included our marriage in October) we’ve decided to sell our She Shook Me EP (5 tracks) for €1.00 on our Bandcamp page – www.barryfinnimore.bandcamp.com

We’d be delighted if you’d download a copy, consider it our wedding present!!

We recorded it at Orphan Studios in Dublin, with Gavin Glass producing.

We were/are immensely proud of our work on it and it paid off with lots of airplay and good reviews, particularly for the title track, She Shook Me.

Pure M awards – Best Male Solo nomination

Good evening!

Things are still quiet chez moi as I have the lurgy of all lurgies, but a bit of news: Barry has been nominated for a Pure M award – Best Male Solo Act.

Tis a long list, in fairness, but it’s nice to see his name up there, first award nomination.

Whoop 🙂

If you’d like to check us out, we’re on soundcloud – www.soundcloud.com/barryfinnimore

She Shook Me

Hi guys,

It’s been a while since I posted, but I’m happy to report that our EP, She Shook Me is now available online at itunes and bandcamp.

We’ve been lucky to have gained some great support. The track has been played by the BBC on their Introducing show, the Irish Times gave us a mention, TXFM have given us a few spins, as have Dublin South FM and 8 Radio.

We’re really grateful for everyone who’s playing, listening and buying tracks.

If you’d like to support us, please do!

xx

Woop!!

Picture This is one of my favourite sites and Facebook pages and when they said they were looking for bands/musicians to feature, my hand shot straight up.

They very kindly wrote a lovely feature about us on their site –

Hello Chaps

Hello,

After a bit of a hiatus, here’s a round-up of what’s been going on…

Recording:

Barry and I went in to Gavin Glass’s Orphan Recording Studio at the start of March to record our 2nd EP, She Shook Me.

My sister came in to help out on piano and we had a very productive 2 days of recording and have 5 songs that we can’t wait to share with you.

Recording was a blast, we felt more confident this time round and had a better idea of what we were at. Gavin was wonderful too, his input was invaluable and he had a great attitude… and patience!

We’re hoping to release the EP in June and we’re lining up gigs and other fun stuff.

St. Patrick’s Day:

Also, Barry and I were volunteers at this year’s St Patrick’s Festival, on Sunday we were assistants at the Big Day Out on Merrion Square. The highlight of my day was the Imaginary Menagerie, captained by Dr Longitude, it was great fun and so creative.

On Monday we took part in the parade!! We carried Discover Ireland banners in front of the Macnas pageant. It was so much fun and great to be involved in, I’d recommend it and will definitely sign up next year. 🙂

Pictures, or it didn’t happen:

Culture Night, 2013

Hello!

This Friday, September 20th 2013 is Culture Night in Ireland.

From their website:

“Culture Night is a night of entertainment, discovery and adventure in Dublin and across 34 towns, cities and counties in Ireland. Arts and cultural organisations open their doors until late with hundreds of free events, tours, talks & performances for you, your family and friends to enjoy.

Culture Night is an initiative co-ordinated by Temple Bar Cultural Trust and supported by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in partnership with the regional arts offices and local authorities throughout the island of Ireland.”

This year, Barry and I are delighted to have been invited to play at the Smithfield Art Tunnel at 7.00pm approx. We’ll be accompanied by other musicians and storytellers.

Can’t wait, if you’re in Dublin, it’d be great to see you, otherwise we’ll try to get a few photos on the night.

🙂
